The drought has had an impact on numerous areas of agriculture, but one thing that might be forgotten is the impact on Christmas Tree Farms. Many Christmas tree farms lost their seedlings in the drought says Paul Vander Streek at Vander Streek Acres. He lost all of his seedlings this year, but that won’t affect him immediately. He says while many tree farms are staying closed this year, he’ll be open. He’s just going to have to plant more in the future to make up for the lost seedlings, which would be ready for sale in 6 or 7 years.
