The name of the man charged in Monday evening’s police chase in Melcher-Dallas has been released. James Leon Millard, of Pleasantville, faces several charges, including assaulting a police officer, failure to have a valid license, interference with official acts, and failure to maintain control. Millard allegedly kicked a sheriff’s deputy during a routine traffic stop before fleeing. He eventually crashed into a tree and was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
