A Knoxville couple is in the Marion County Jail on $101,000 bond each after being arrested last week on drug charges. 40-year-old Kirk Simmons and 35-year-old Sarah Simmons have been charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Authorities with the Knoxville Police Department and Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force searched their mobile home at Wheel Estates in Knoxville Friday, finding a number of items used to make meth. This includes camp fuel, liquid drain opener, starter fluids, and more. The suspects also have an alleged history of buying pseudoephedrine since 2010. There will be a preliminary hearing for Kirk and Sarah Simmons Friday in Marion County District Court. If they are convicted, they each face up to 25 years in prison.
