A pair of double digit performances Tuesday night in Monroe led the PCM girls over Gilbert 47-40. Leading the charge offensively was Abbi Gilson, who led all scorers with 20 points, followed by Courtney VanHouweling who added 15. PCM trailed 7-2 early but ended the first quarter on a 10-0 run to take the lead for good. The play of the game for the Mustangs came deep in the final period with PCM clinging to a two-point advantage when Gilson hit a step back three that sank the hopes of a Gilbert comeback. The win gets PCM back to .500 at 6-6 as they prepare for a visit Friday night from Greene County. The PCM boys also claimed a victory over Gilbert Tuesday night in Monroe, 52-42. The silky smooth stylings of Dillon Bruxvoort led the Mustangs attack with 16 points. Alex DeWitte and Nate VandeWall also added double digit point totals with 12 and 10 respectively. Gilbert’s offense centered around post presence Michael Austin who led their effort with 13 points, while four guards flung 3 point attempts to no avail. The Gilbert boys are now 4-4 while PCM improves to 11-1. The Mustangs will also host Greene County Friday night in Monroe as part of a girl/boy double header starting at 6pm.
