Getting swept at the hands of Coe to open up their Iowa Conference schedule this past Saturday, the Central College basketball teams will look to get on track at Wartburg this evening. The Dutch women started off cold from the field, came roaring back in the second half, even having a lead for a lengthy period of time, but fell to the Kohawks 46 – 39. Though Coach Mike Jacobsma was happy with the defensive effort his girls showed, he wants the shooting to pick up against the Knights. Jacobsma also said that their game against Coe was a good warm-up contest, as Wartburg’s women are also a strong defensive team. The Central men are also coming off a frustrating loss, that saw their eight point halftime lead evaporate into a 56 – 46 loss. The Dutch women are 7 – 5 while the men are 7 – 4. Tonight’s doubleheader tips off at 6:00 p.m. with the women playing first.
