A Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy was treated and released from the hospital Friday night after the department pickup he was driving struck a cow. Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Fisher tells KNIA/KRLS News that the deputy was driving southbound on Highway 5 about a mile south of the Knoxville Sales Barn when the accident happened. Another truck also struck the cow, and an additional car was involved in the accident. The occupants of those vehicles did not need ambulance treatment. Knoxville Rural Fire Chief Kenny Thompson says those vehicles had some damage, but the sheriff’s pickup truck had significant damage.
