A pair of shutouts highlighted the end of the Tucson Invitational for Central Softball on Saturday against Judson and Trinity Universities. Kelsey Stender for the Dutch allowed just three hits, walked none and struck out four in a 3 – 0 complete game shutout of Judson in the first game of the doubleheader. Second baseman Abbey Strajack went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Dutch, who also didn’t allow a run against Trinity, ending their trip to the south with a 7 – 0 victory. Stender pitched 2/3 of an inning in the first and allowed two hits, and was pulled for Mallory Schulenberg, who lasted the rest of the game giving up three hits and four strikeouts and also didn’t give out any free passes. St. Louis is the next destination for the 11 – 5 Dutch softball team, and will face Washington-St. Louis this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
