The Pella Christian boys’ soccer team will come back from spring break today and get down to business on the pitch with week number two of preseason drills. Practice officially started last Monday, and first year head coach, Gerrit Brouwer said that the main focus has been on playing an “intelligent” game of soccer. The Eagles’ coach stressed how important it is that his guys keep possession of the ball and not turn it over very many times. Brouwer also told KNIA/KRLS Sports that he wants to see smart passes and not have his guys just kick the ball forward and hope somebody is there to get it. Defensively, Brouwer added, he’d like to see his Eagles slow down attacks and put high pressure on their opponents. Chariton will be coming to Pella Christian High next Monday, March 25 for a scrimmage at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles’ first game of the year occurs on March 29 at PCM at 7:00 in the evening.
