The Pella Christian girls will be busy this afternoon; the soccer and tennis teams will each be in action later today. For the soccer team, they showed some flashes of greatness in a 2 – 0 loss to North Polk on Thursday. Coach Bill Collman said they did a great job of controlling the ball but they just had a couple bad breaks go against them. Collman says that for today’s tournament at Southeast Polk, the offense needs to progress even further, and he even has a name for what has to be done. Their first match will take place later this morning. The Eagles’ girls’ tennis team will be looking to follow up a dominant opening to the season which saw them beat Oskaloosa 10 – 1 on Thursday. Pella Christian and head coach, Danielle Stubbs will be in a tournament at Johnston, taking on some much bigger schools in varsity action. Stubbs told KNIA/KRLS Sports that she’s not taking as many girls as she would have liked, but it should be good experience for the ones going. The Johnston Invitational is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
