Significant rainfall expected throughout the day has led to a Flash Flood Watch in Marion County and much of south central Iowa. Reports indicate that rainfall totals could reach two-to-three inches by early tomorrow morning. The watch runs from noon today through tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service says flooding of small streams and creeks and ponding water on roads and in ditches is of greatest concern. There’s also a chance that today’s storms may turn severe this evening and today. KNIA/KRLS’ s Severe Weather Action Team is on alert and monitoring the situation.
