Work on the downtown streetscape project in Knoxville will start today. Second Street, from Main to Robinson Street, will be closed as crews begin prep work and sawing on that block of the downtown square. That will also include the intersection of Robinson and Second Streets. Sidewalks will remain open at this time, but portions of the sidewalk will eventually be closed as crews work on connections from water and sewer lines. This portion of the project is expected to be completed by November 11th.

Progress meetings will be held every other week starting next Tuesday. Those will begin at 10am and will usually start in the Knoxville Community Room. Some meetings will take place on-site and will be announced ahead of time.
