With many of the County’s big events out of the way, County Engineer Roger Schletzbaum says they’ve entered their busy season for construction. He says the most notable project contractors are working on right now is the G46/T15 intersection. Schletzbaum tells KNIA/KRLS News that the DOT supplied some funding to change it from a “Y”-type intersection to a “T”-type intersection. He explains that this will make the intersection safer to get through and cause less confusion.
The county has a number of other projects going on as well. Schletzbaum says that county crews have spent most of their summer working on residential streets in Attica, Columbia, Tracy, and Otley. He adds after they’ve fixed up the drainage improvements, the contractor will come in mill up the surface, redo the base, and put a new surface on the roads.
