The Lake Red Rock Corps of Engineers is looking for volunteers for their Monarch Watch and tagging event Friday evening. Ranger Tracy Spry says you’ll attempt to capture and tag monarchs as they pass through the Red Rock area during their fall migration. Data from tagged butterflies helps researchers track their journey to Mexico. Long pants and closed toed shoes are recommended, as you’ll walk through a tallgrass prairie during this activity. The event begins at 5:30 pm and the group will meet at the South Tailwater Recreation Area.
