The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad avenged an earlier loss to Albia by defeating the Blue Demons last night 64-61. The two teams exchanged the lead eight times during the first half and had the game tied twice. Knoxville took control late in the third quarter when Bryce Zoutte buried a three to break a 41-all tie, and the Panthers never trailed again. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS his guys worked hard for the win. Nolan Wallace and Trent Davis both scored 19 points to lead all scorers as Knoxville moved to 4-8. For the girls, it was a heartbreaking loss as Albia sunk a free throw with :00.8 remaining to claim a 44-43 win over the Panthers. Ricki Hall led Knoxville with 13 points, as the Panthers fall to five-and-eight on the season. Both Knoxville squads are back in action Friday at home against Grinnell.
