Pella High and A-D-M went down to the wire in both of their games on Tuesday night. The Tigers’ girls won 45 – 44; A-D-M got off to a 14 – 4 lead after the first quarter, but Pella kept fighting back, and had a lead with 45 seconds left, before the Tigers’ Kendra Chapman hit a three to give her team the lead and the win. Coach Jerod Garland says their slow start really ended up costing his team in the end. Jessica Holterhaus had 14 points to lead the way for Pella. The Little Dutch avoided two last-second three-point attempts by the Tigers to hold on and win 61 – 58. Pella was without Isaac Naaktgeboren, and every person that touched the court ended up scoring, led by Bryce Bortscheller who had 12. Pella’s girls fall to 9 – 5 and the boys are now 11 – 2. They each return to conference play this Friday night against Oskaloosa.
