Principal Gary Friday tells KNIA KRLS News that Pleasantville Schools has a program called J-Term. J-Term, or January Term, is a seven-day-long class that takes place during the first seven days back from Christmas break. Friday says the term combines 6th through 12th graders, and class options are different than traditional choices. Kids have a chance to do project-based learning on topics that include crime scene investigation, the history of rock and roll, video and film making, and quilting for a cause – which turned out a t-shirt quilt that was auctioned off at Pleasantville’s Hoops for Hope American Cancer Society benefit recently.
