It took overtime, but the Twin Cedars’ boys’ basketball team conquered Diagonal on Monday night, 61 – 58. Down by two with eight seconds left in regulation, Otis Roby hit a jumper as the buzzer sounded to push the game into extra time, and the Sabers handled it from there. Roby finished with 27 points while Coy Moore added 12 of his own. Melcher-Dallas’ boys couldn’t get off on the right foot in their consolation loss to Orient-Macksburg, 76 – 54. Brock Breese and Chase Wetterling each dumped in 20 for the Saints, who are off until next Tuesday to play Seymour, while the Sabers play Thursday in the semifinals against Murray.
