Knoxville’s School Board met Monday. Because two of the three candidates for principal have accepted other employment prior to interviews with Knoxville, the Board tabled the review of the employment contract for principal and instead approved a contract with G. Tryon & Associates to assist in the search. G. Tryon is the same firm that worked with the school in the superintendent search. The Board approved the fiscal year 2015 budget for publication. They also reviewed the proposed 2014-2015 calendar, and Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack recommended the calendar be based on hours, as that system provides more flexibility than one based on days. At this time, the school year is scheduled to end on June 1. Public hearings for both the budget and the calendar are set for the next board meeting, which is Monday, March 24.
