The Iowa Supreme Court has denied an application for further review made by Terry Cobbins, who was convicted of the murder of Teresa Miller, from Knoxville. In December, the Iowa Court of Appeals affirmed the decision in the conviction of Cobbins. Cobbins sought to overturn his first degree murder conviction, based on insufficient evidence. He claimed he did not commit the murder, and asked for a new trial based on ineffective assistance of counsel. The Court affirmed the decision, stating “because the record contains strong corroboration, ineffective-assistance claims are rejected.” Teresa Miller’s husband, Michael MIller, was also convicted of the murder in a separate trial.
