At the most recent Knoxville School Board meeting, the board heard a summary of physical plant projects planned for this summer. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says some of the projects include improving security at school buildings, by changing locks and increasing the number of card access doors and reducing the need for keys. He says new door handles in classrooms will be installed, so they will lock from both the inside and the outside. Another project is the replacement of carpets in elementary school classrooms, the middle school’s south lobby and the band room. He says the existing tile will be removed and new tile will be installed.
