This year, the Iowa Legislature changed the required hours that the Auditor’s office must be open for absentee voting in a primary election. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says his office used to be open the two Saturdays before a primary; now it’s just one. He says his office will be open from 8 to 5 on Saturday, May 31, for absentee voting, before the upcoming election on June 3. He says the pre-voter registration deadline is Friday; otherwise you’ll need to go through the election day registration process. The offices of treasurer, recorder, county attorney, and a Board of Supervisors seat are all on the ballot.
