For the second time in three years, the Pella High baseball team came up just a game short of the Class 3A state tournament. This season’s team was filled with some talented bats, arms, but mostly a roster that was top-to-bottom eager to improve and go as far as they could with what skills they had. Coach Jesse Jablonski says you could tell in preseason warm-ups that this team was focused and knew what they wanted to achieve by the end of the season. The Dutch came up just short to Dallas Center – Grimes in the substate final, 5 – 0, and finished the year with a mark of 26 – 14.
