Recently, Central College has seen an influx of class gifts from graduating seniors and alumni.

This year’s project from the Class of 2014 was improvements to the pond on campus. Central President Mark Putnam says that the pond would typically collect silt and algae blooms. He says the effort was focused on providing a gift that fit with the college’s sustainability efforts. The pond now features a natural filtration system through the use of gravel, sand, and plants that eat and absorb impurities in the water.
