Pella Community Schools have two faculty members that have earned state teacher of the year awards.

Joe Burch has been named as the 2014 Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year for the state of Iowa by the Iowa Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. The organization also named Amy Belding as the 2014 Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Only one teacher in the state receives each of these awards each year. Burch and Belding will be presented their awards at the October 3 convention in Ames.
