Melcher-Dallas’ football team took full advantage of a short-rested Wayne squad yesterday, blowing them out 64 – 32. Jacob Hoch had four rushing touchdowns and gained 216 yards on the ground. Chase Wetterling scored three times, and Alex Mitchell was 8-for-19 passing for 130 yards. Lamoni toppled Twin Cedars last night, 68 – 28. The Saints are now 5 – 1 overall and a perfect 4 – 0 in district play, while the Sabers fall to 2 – 4 on the season and 1 – 3 in the district. Melcher-Dallas will play Lamoni this Friday night, with the district championship seemingly on the line, and Twin Cedars will be at Moravia.
