The Pella School Board reviewed their 2015-16 budget this week.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the budgeting process has been an uphill climb this spring because of the ongoing battle for school funding at the Iowa Statehouse. He says the board is currently exploring ways to reduce costs and increase revenues, and sharing agreements with neighboring districts is one way of doing so. Ebeling adds the problem of not receiving additional state aid is compounded by the issue of declining enrollment in the district. The board will hold a public hearing regarding the budget at their next meeting on Monday, March 23rd. We have more with Ebeling about the challenges the district faces on Let’s Talk Pella.
