Self-defense will be part of the defense strategy for a Knoxville man accused of attempted murder.
59-year-old Ricky Lee Hyatt is charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, a Class B Felony, and Willful Injury – Causing Serious Injury, a Class C felony.
According to court documents, Hyatt plans to rely upon the defenses of self-defense, intoxication, and diminished capacity to support his case.
Knoxville Police arrested Hyatt on October 23rd for allegedly shooting another man in the head. The victim survived the incident.
Hyatt is scheduled to be in court Monday.
