The Knoxville City Council approved a contract agreement Monday that will help the city put its permit application process online.

Representatives from Midland GIS Solutions and Schneider Beacon gave presentations to council members explaining how they will support the city’s effort to develop a comprehensive web-based GIS mapping program and an application to allow citizens to submit their permit requests online.
City Manager Harold Stewart says it will allow the city to be more efficient and customer friendly for permit applicants.
