To say the least Joe Beaver laid claim to the 360 Sprint Car Championship at Knoxville Raceway early and often last season. He won three of the first four races and then used consistency the remainder of the season to win the title. In fact, Beaver never finished below sixth place in any points-paying nights in 2014, the only driver who who was points eligible who can say that. Beaver tells KNIA/KRLS Sports when he got the qualifying effort sorted out, he was able to pull away in the points race. He adds while every driver wants to win each week, he did a lot of “big picture” racing later in the season. He says qualifying top three and finishing fourth in the A-Main is actually a better points night then qualifying ninth and winning. Beaver will get his title defense underway April 18th when the season opens at the Knoxville Raceway.
