The Marion County Sheriff’s Office will act as weather spotters when severe weather situations present themselves.
Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says his deputies are looking for any circulation in clouds that could form into a funnel cloud or tornado.
Sandholdt adds that if KNIA/KRLS is telling you to take shelter that information needs to be taken seriously because it’s coming from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the National Weather Service.
The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team will interrupt regular programming for severe weather events in the Marion County area as they occur at any time of day, year-round. We have backup generators to ensure that we are on the air live in the event of any weather-related emergency.
