Permits for a variety of projects can be filed online through the Marion County website.

Marion County Zoning Director Melissa Poffenbarger says they’ve had online access for a couple of years now and it makes it easier for the county to review permit requests between their three separate buildings. She also says it works well for people who are out of town to be able to jump online at a free moment of their convenience, instead of losing half a day to come to the Marion County Courthouse.
Poffenbarger wants to make sure people understand that online permitting starts the process and that applications still must be reviewed. The process won’t be completed until an e-mail permit is sent from the zoning office.
