Pella Historical Society held an unveiling of a new statue by the Vermeer Windmill on Wednesday.
The statue is named “De Schaatsers,” and features a young Dutch boy and girl skating. It is surrounded by white flowers that symbolize ice and snow. The statue was made possible by the Pella Historical Society’s Winds of Change fundraising effort through a donation by Bernice Vermeer.
