It was an exciting final day at the state track and field meet which saw two state champions in class 3A. Tanner Dunkin of Knoxville took home his second straight 100 meter dash championship winning on Saturday with a time of 11.31. The Pella girls track and field team were impressive on Saturday as they were runners-up in the shuttle hurdle relay, finishing second to state champs Clear Creek Amana by three one-hundredths of second. The Lady Dutch struck gold in the 4×400 meter relay final with a time of 3:59.00 to become state champions in that event. Pella girls head coach Dak Rasmussen was happy and please with his teams overall performance. Payson Vande Lune for the Pella boys track team medaled in the 800 meter finals finishing seventh with a time of 1:59.45. Kendrea Richardson finished fourth in the girls 200 meter dash final. The Pella girls finished fifth in the state, the Pella boys finished seventh in Class 3A and the Knoxville boys finished fifth in Class 3A.
