Walloping 30 hits, the Pella High softball team dominated the dirt during their time at the Centerville tournament this past weekend. The Lady Dutch began with a 7 – 3 win over Central Lee, with Alexa Dingeman getting the win on the mound. The victorious pitcher was Kinzi Van Wyk in Pella’s 11 – 0 win over Moulton-Udell, where she threw a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in the six-inning affair. Staff ace, Elyse Sadler, propelled her team to the win in game three, 9 – 4 over Woodward-Granger. Sadler struck out eight in seven innings of work. Offensively, Sara Tallman was 5-for-8 at the dish with four stolen bases, and Laruen Kingery also had five hits and drove in five runs. Pella improves to 4 – 1 on the season, and they’ll play at Eddyville-Blakesburg this Tuesday.
