Once the rain moved out of the area, Pella Christian’s baseball and softball teams beat a pair of very good Oskaloosa squads on Monday night. The Eagles’ girls shook off a recent string of frustration to knock off the No. 1-ranked team in Class 4A, Oskaloosa, 4 – 0. Over on the baseball diamond, PC picked up ten hits in a 5 – 4 victory. Scott Haveman had three of those along with the game-winning RBI. Jason Holwerda and Josh Rolffs each clubbed two base knocks. Dillon Branderhorst threw a complete-game and earned the win on the mound. Pella Christian softball sits at 15 – 5 now, while the boys improve to a mark of 8 – 12. The Eagles will next host Pella High this Wednesday night.
