Pella’s Farmers Market was recently featured statewide as a part of an effort to promote local food and farms.
Executive Director of Eat Greater Des Moines Aubrey Alvarez says she’s been touring the Des Moines Area to feature local produce and see how local markets are doing. She plans to make stops in Knoxville and Pleasantville later this summer. Sellers at the Pella market told KNIA/KRLS news last week that they are experiencing strong growth this season in sales and visitors. The Pella Farmers Market takes place on Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at First Reformed Church.
