Four runs in the third inning was the difference as the Knoxville Baseball Squad fell to Norwalk in the first round of the Class 3A District 5-2 last night. Norwalk was able to get to Knoxville Starter Tony Salato in the second inning for a run after he sat the Warriors down in the first in order. Errors and other mistakes also contributed to Knoxville’s downfall. Coach Joel Johnson told KNIA/KRLS Sports Norwalk won the game by doing everything right. Salato took the loss going two-plus innings giving up four runs on five hits and three strikeouts. Kevin Woodhouse pitched the final five innings of relief, pitching two-hit ball. Knoxville ends its season at 28-6 and will say good bye to nine seniors.
