A man in custody for possessing stolen motorcycles has entered a plea for charges stemming from an incident in which he allegedly injured another inmate following his initial arrest.
Jeffrey Wade Werner pled not guilty to assault causing serious injury, a class D felony. He’s accused of fracturing the jaw of another inmate at Marion County Jail in June. Werner was previously arrested on May 31st for allegedly possessing two stolen motorcycles from Des Moines, and pled not guilty to 1st degree theft earlier this month.
