A plea hearing has been scheduled for an Oskaloosa man accused of sexually abusing a girl in Hamilton this past February.

26-year-old Tony Joe Bakalar Jr. has been charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, a Class C felony.

According to court records, Bakalar assaulted the 13-year-old victim at a residence in Hamilton. The victim told her mother and when confronted Bakalar fled before turning himself in to Oskaloosa police.

Bakalar’s jury trial was scheduled for September, but it’s now been removed from the court schedule. His plea hearing will take place Friday.
