Felony charges have been filed against a Knoxville man accused of taking part in the theft of a pair of chainsaws.
22-year-old Tyler D. Schneider has been charged with 3rd degree burglary, a Class D felony, 4th degree theft, interference with official acts, and criminal trespassing.
According to court records, three individuals were seen walking out of a garage on Pearl Street with the chainsaws at around 5:30pm Saturday afternoon. Police were called to the same location three hours later after a witness said the individuals had returned and, when confronted by the witness, Schneider fled from the scene.
The chainsaws were valued at $345 total.
A preliminary hearing has been set Tuesday, Sept. 1st.
