Terry’s McCarl’s car was not very good at the beginning of the night, in fact T-Mac said it was horrible.But after several changes and taking a risk with a new set up, McCarl roared to victory in night two of the 55th Annual F-V-P Knoxville Nationals passing Danny Lasoski on the 15th lap and holding on to win. McCarl told KNIA/KRLS his crew chief Doug Rankin and son Austin McCarl put their heads together and broke out a setup they had not tried all year. Lasoski would finish second with Jason Johnson completing the podium. Driver Kevin Swindell was injured in a heat race crash and by Mercy One Helicopter. No word on his condition, KNIA/KRLS will update his condition when it becomes official. After two nights of racing the top 16 is set, with one exception. Donny Schatz will be on the pole with Kerry Madsen on the from row for Saturday’s championship A-Main. There is one problem, Abreu has a K & N race Saturday night that will keep him from running in the Nationals. He announced soon after the line ups were announced that he would not run on Saturday. The car will race with a substitute driver. Tonight is the last chance qualifier with the top four in the A-Main earning positions 17-20 in Saturday’s final race, plus the SpeedSport News World Challenge.
