The Pella High cross country teams looked impressive in the early going of the 2015 season at Monday’s meet at Ballard. The Little Dutch were second overall with 55 points, just six behind Dallas Center – Grimes. Adam Sievers finished just six seconds out of first and had to settle for a second place finish with a time of 17:14, while teammates Nick Bernhagen and Blaise Winegardner were fifth and sixth, respectively. Pella’s girls took the crown with 49 points, beating the second place Fillies by a dozen. Ciara Buchheit and Tess Roorda again led the pack of Lady Dutch, with times of 19:07 and 19:14, respectively, finishing third and fourth. Iowa State University will be the next venue for the Dutch, when they race this Saturday.
