Several law enforcement agencies, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Knoxville Police Department, worked together to stop a vehicle involved in a three county chase early Thursday.
Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says the chase began in Oskaloosa in Mahaska County, then traveled along Hwy 92 and Hwy 5 near Knoxville in Marion County, and ended near Lovilia in Monroe County after stop sticks were deployed.
It’s believed the occupants of the vehicle were involved in a theft at the Oskaloosa Walmart earlier in the evening.
Taken into custody by the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office were 27-year-old Jeremy Barton and 23-year-old Cameron McLaughlin. Sheriff Sandholdt said the agencies worked well together and were able to take the subjects into custody without anyone getting hurt.
The Iowa State Patrol, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, and Monroe County Conservation also assisted in the chase.
