The Pleasantville Trojan Basketball Squads will have to take on a pack of Timberwolves from Southwest Valley in a girl/boy doubleheader tonight.
The girls are currently on a losing skid, but have plenty of things to be positive about. While the scoreboard has not fallen in their favor as of late, the young Trojans problems seem to be more of a confidence issue rather than a talent issue. Earlier in the week against Southeast Warren the girls would fall 45-37, but found themselves with plenty of chances to make open shots and just could not convert. Head Coach Aaron Fichter tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that once his girls find that elusive confidence, the final score will be more in their favor. On the Boys side, the Trojans are currently on a three game Pride of Iowa Conference winning streak, picking up victories against conference stalwarts Central Decatur and Nodaway Valley. The Trojans outside shooting was suspect in their victory on Tuesday against Southeast Warren, but Head Coach Joel Allman tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that it was simply an off night for the team and they will remain confident heading into tonight.
