Emergency crews fought a fire in rural Otley Tuesday night.

The Pella Rural Fire Department responded to several 911 calls about a burning barn near the 1700 Block of Highway 163.

Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom tells KNIA/KRLS News his firefighters believe the blaze started with a rubbish pile burn left unattended. Witnesses told fire crews the flames jumped from the pile to the barn, which was a total loss.

Van Gorkom says nobody was injured. Pella Ambulance also responded to the call.
