Starting with the football team two seasons ago making the playoffs, then the basketball team making a cinderalla run to the district final, followed up by boys track team winning a state title in the 4×100 relay and the boys baseball team making their run all the way to the state championship game in the summer, the Pleasantville Trojan boys athletic program has had a renaissance of sorts.

The boys programs continued to stay on the rise this season as well, with the Football team winning a playoff game only losing twice all season, once to the state champions, and once to eventual state semifinalist. The momentum continued on through the winter sports season as well. The basketball team would go 14-8 and earn a first round playoff bye with the first seed before ultimately falling to class 2A powerhouse Pella Christian, and the wrestling program would send four grapplers to the state tournament, with three placing.

Trojan wrestler Chaz Clark told KNIA/KRLS Sports that it’s easy to ride the wave of momentum as all sports teams continue to succeed. The winter sports season is complete, and the Trojan boys will still have Golf, Track, and the Baseball season left on this current school year.
