It was yet another night to remember for basketball fans in the Tulip City Saturday.

Pella Christian’s boys team will play in the state tournament for the 2nd straight year and 6th time since 2008 after their 68-47 victory over West Burlington, a game that was live on 92.1 KRLS.

In the college ranks, there were also plenty of reasons to celebrate. The Central College men’s basketball team was singing “We are the Champions” by Queen on the bus ride home after they earned the Iowa Conference title by beating Wartburg in Waverly 92-80. They earned an automatic bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament.

On Monday, the Pella Little Dutch are hoping to join the girls team in earning their second consecutive trip to Wells Fargo Arena when they play Ballard in Johnston, with coverage on 92.1 KRLS beginning at 6:40 p.m.
