The normally stout Simpson Men’s defense that has held the Buena Vista Beavers to an average of 67 points in their two meetings this season did not show up to its usual standard in a season ending 87-58 blowout loss at home last night in the first round of the Iowa Conference tournament. The Storm shot just 27% from the field and committed 18 turnovers while losing the points off turnovers battle 22-4. The Storm were lead by Sam Amsbaugh with 12 points, and the loss ends the Storm season with a 15-11 record. The Storm women also had an off night traveling to Buena Vista, they would fall to the Beavers 87-61. What was a six point game at halftime would be blown open by the Beavers in half number two where the Storm were outscored 44-23. Mackenzie Haupt would lead the Storm in scoring with 14 points and Maddie Bosworth would put in 11. The season ending loss puts the Storm record at 15-11.
