Assistant Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Manager Kim Petty John tells KNIA/KRLS News families should take extra steps to be prepared in case of severe weather.

Pettyjohn stresses that families should have a disaster plan in place, have a kit prepared with emergency food and supplies and always make sure that they have enough food and water for at least three days. Lists of items to include in a family emergency preparedness kit are available at the Emergency Management office in the courthouse.
