On Saturday, Representative Greg Heartsill was elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention that will be held July 18-21 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Twelve national delegates were chosen on Saturday, three from each of the four Congressional Districts in Iowa. Iowa’s remaining 15 delegates will be elected at the State Republican Convention held in Des Moines on May 21. Heartsill tells KNIA/KRLS News it is an honor to be elected by his fellow delegates to represent Iowa at the Republican National Convention and that this convention will be historic as it appears that no one presidential candidate will arrive with the necessary delegate count to be the presumptive nominee.
